UGC Sponsored National Seminar Advances in Phytomedicines and Phytonanocomposites

Prestigious Acharya Nagarjuna university has conducted UGC two day national seminars. Which guides the students in right path explore the knowledge about Phytomedicines and Phytonano composites. Sims students also attended the seminars as Sims college also Plays an important role in exploring their students and trains the students be in first Position in seminars.Phytomedicines can be defined as the herbal medicine with therapeutic and healing Properties. It came into existence since the advent of human civilization. Phytomedicines (plant-derived drugs) express a vast array of biological activities and therefore, Phytomedicines have been practiced worldwide since the ancient times for the prevention and treatment of the diseases. However, various chemical and biological barriers like Insolubility, hydrophobicity, low bioavailability, and high toxicity restrict the application of such imperative phytomedicines.

Phytonanocomposites have drawn significant interest in the past few decades mainly due To their ever-growing applications in various fields. This chapter comprehensively highlights the basic aspects of polymer/clay nanocomposites and their importance in various fields. Compared with conventional composites, polymer nan composites have remarkable enhancement in the properties when a very small amount of fillers is added to them. Nano clay hybrid composites have a wide range of consumer applications in food packaging as well as in biomedical applications.
