The one-week special camp organized by the NSS unit of SIMS College of Pharmacy at Agatha Varappadu Village, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh was a commendable initiative aimed at fostering community engagement and social responsibility among students. Led by NSS Programme Officer Dr. K Vinod Kumar and supported by dedicated faculty members, the camp witnessed the active participation of 50+ NSS volunteers. Throughout the week, a series of impactful activities were conducted, starting with the "Clean and Green Village" initiative on the first day, followed by the cleaning and white-washing of government schools and temples on the second day. Day three saw the volunteers engaging in tree plantation activities in village corridors, contributing to environmental conservation efforts. Subsequent days focused on health-related programs, including a communicable disease awareness program in schools, a dental check-up camp, and a comprehensive health check-up camp.

On the final day, the NSS unit organized an eradication of drug addiction and health promotion program emphasizing the importance of addressing pressing societal issues and promoting overall well-being. The camp not only provided essential services and education to the local community but also instilled a sense of civic duty and empathy among the participating students. By actively participating in these diverse activities, the NSS volunteers demonstrated their commitment to social service and community development, making a tangible difference in the lives of the villagers and leaving a lasting impact on the community.
